His Holiness is Always on....

The Dalai Lama Kicks it again!
"It is fascinating," he says, speaking in slightly stilted English. "In the West, you have bigger homes, yet smaller families; you have endless conveniences --yet you never seem to have any time. You can travel anywhere in the world, yet you don't bother to cross the road to meet your neighbours; you have more food than you could possibly eat, yet that makes women like Heidi miserable."

Pema again

Now,
shantideva proposes that a distracted mind is like a leaky pot,
all the teachings drain outta the whole. Now I know why I feel like
that. And that the kleshas are like bandits, stealing our happiness
and peace of mind. I have to say as one who dances with kleshas daily
I get that completely. So what?
How do you deal with the kleshas yourself?

Wow, right to the bone

In Pema Chodron's new book she quotes the sixteenth karmapa when asked to say something to her children that didn't require understanding of the dharma, and he said "You are going to die, and when you do, you will take nothing with you but your state of mind."
Ouch, cut to the core. How can we be this direct???
